Former international soccer player Luis Sanes has been named as 7 Elite Academy’s new Head of Talent ID.

Sanes, who played for Bolivia, will have responsibility for identifying young athletes that could benefit from 7EA programs, as well as Schools and Pre-Academy.

He will lead a team that has already increased membership from just one team to over 1,000 players in two years, as 7EA continues to expand in Utah and further afield.

Sanes holds a USSF B License, USSF A License and a FIFA License, and has coached 7EA boys and girls teams for a number of years.

Anthony Godfrey, Global Technical Director at 7 Elite Academy, said: “I have known Luis for quite some time and I have always recognised the great talent he has for identifying the potential of young players.

“This role will be a great opportunity for him to build on the fantastic work our team of staff and coaches has done to expand this academy in just over 18 months.

“We are now at the next step of our development, as we look to grow our brand beyond Utah and take 7EA onto the international stage.

“This is a hugely exciting time for us and Luis is the ideal person to help us make a success of that expansion plan.”

Wayne Scholes, Chief Executive at 7 Elite Academy, is delighted to have secured the long-term future of one of the organization's leading coaches.

He said: “We are planning to make 7 Elite Academy one of the biggest names in youth soccer, not just in Utah but across the world.

“That process means we have to recruit the very best staff and in Luis we have someone who is ideally placed to identify players who will benefit from our soccer development curriculum,

“We want to give every single player who comes to us the chance to make the most of their ability, both on the field and in life generally. Luis is going to be a key member of our team going forward.”
