Luis Sanes will use his experience of playing professional soccer to develop the prospects of young players in his new role as Head of Talent ID at 7 Elite Academy.

Sanes, who takes up the post this week, enjoyed a 12-year career that included stints in Bolivia, Argentina, Venezuela and Peru.

But the Bolivian was forced to end his professional career at the age of 28 when he suffered a badly broken ankle.

He is now a familiar face at 7EA, having coached boys and girls teams for a number of years, and is relishing the prospect of expanding that role to include identifying youngsters who could benefit from Academy programs.

Sanes said: “I am hugely excited to start work for 7 Elite Academy as the organisation's Head of Talent ID. Being involved in sports helps to build confidence within young people and teaches them discipline.

“I am determined to help 7EA continue providing great opportunities for kids to become better citizens and professionals in any career they choose.”

Sanes tragically lost his parents at a young age and credits soccer with providing a positive influence during his formative years as a young player in Bolivia.

He added: “I want to help kids find their talent, like I got help from somebody who saw mine when I was younger. My dream has always been to help young kids stay out of trouble, so this is a dream role for me.

“I feel it is very important that young people keep busy when they're developing, both on and off the pitch. Soccer is very good influence on them, as it was on me as a youngster.”
