The 7 Elite Academy masterclass as has been hailed as the “perfect” pre-cursor to the organization's tryouts, which get under way in Southern Utah this week.

Hundreds of 7EA youngsters attended sessions in St. George last week, where they were trained by coaches from top teams in the English Premier League.

They were given a unique insight into the professional game in the UK during the masterclass, which was free and exclusive to registered Academy players.

It was the latest in a long line of visits to 7EA from soccer professionals, including a coaching course with EPL star James Milner late last summer.

Players must now get set for tryout sessions, which get under way in the region on Monday and run at various locations across Utah until the end of May.

Anthony Godfrey 7 Elite Academy Global Technical Director, said: “It was fantastic to see so many players shown how professional players and coaches work at some of the leading clubs in the English Premier League.

“I want to thank the coaches who came over to Utah after a long season and developed a programme of sessions that will stay with the players for a very long time to come.

“Players were shown how to make the most of their ability on the pitch, but also to take responsibility for their overall athletic ability away from games and training events.

“These masterclass sessions, which we also held in the Salt Lake City and Northern Utah regions last month, are always a massive benefit for players who are registered with 7 Elite Academy.

“They were a perfect way for players to prepare for tryouts.”

Youngsters can join the Academy at a series of tryouts that start on May 13th in Southern Utah and run at various locations across the state until May 31st.

The Academy recently announced proposals for a 45-acre indoor and outdoor facility in St. George, with further designs for a similar base in Northern Utah currently under wraps.

Those expansion plans also include an intention to bring more international teams to the United States, following the recent launch of 7 Elite Academy in East Africa.

There is no charge for current 7 Elite Academy players to take part in tryouts, while others will be charged $10 ($20 if paying on the day) which includes an exclusive tryout jersey.

Age brackets will range from under-9 to under-18, although there will also be sample training sessions for Pre-Academy players in the 2012-2015 birth years.

Players are encouraged to attend all days of tryouts for their location and age group.  To aid in an efficient check-in process at the try-outs, all players are encouraged to pre-register. On site same day registration is $20 dollars.
