7 Elite Academy Global Technical Director Anthony Godfrey has praised the “remarkable” reaction of young players to the organisation's professional coaching systems during tryouts this month.

Hundreds of players have flocked to 7EA trials across central and northern Utah this week, following four successful days of tryouts in the south of the state last week.

The sessions are set to resume on Tuesday May 28th, as the academy looks to add further players to its burgeoning ranks ahead of the Fall soccer campaign.

Coaching staff at 7 Elite Academy have been drawn from across the professional game in Europe and America – and Godfrey has been delighted with the development shown by new and existing players.

He said: “In just a few short days, we have seen hundreds of young players come to us and benefit from the coaching sessions that are used within our youth development program throughout the phases.

“It has been remarkable to see the progress made by virtually every player who has taken part in tryouts. This is something we want to continue during the season this year.

“We are determined to make sure these youngsters take responsibility for their ability on the pitch, but also for us coaches support our players in developing a personality that will succeed them on and off the pitch.

"We are very specific with the level of detail with the work and engagement that needs to be implemented with our players at the right times.

“Our coaching staff have been very impressed with the standards on show at tryouts, so I am expecting a great year for the players to be faced with realistic challenges within training, games and competitons that can add to another stepping stone on this amazing but also unpredictable journey of youth football development.”

This year’s tryouts followed a series of masterclass sessions with coaches from the English Premier League – free and exclusive to 7EA players. The organization also brought in EPL star James Milner for a coaching school last year.

And just a few days ago, four girls from 7 Elite Academy were given the opportunity to train at an English Premier League Academy this summer, with further training events planned over coming months.

Godfrey added: “We have a number of coaching events planned for the summer that will again give our youngsters the chance to work alongside the very best players and coaches from across the world.

“The continuous expansion of 7EA into East Africa and Europe means we can give players life-changing coaching trips to professional soccer academies on a regular basis. Once we do that, who knows how far they can progress?

“We are looking to give our players every possible opportunity to develop within the game they love and then if they want, into professional or college soccer.

“The first step is to attend tryouts and see how we are working with young people from all walks of life and creating fantastic human beings that have all the values and ability of becoming a major talent in years to come ”

7 Elite Academy tryouts run until May 31st and there is no charge for current 7 Elite Academy players to take part, while others will be charged $10 ($20 if paying on the day) which includes an exclusive tryout jersey.
