7EA trip to LFC Girls Academy was "unforgettable"

A trip that saw four 7 Elite Academy players train at the world-famous LFC Girls Academy has been hailed as an “unforgettable opportunity” for the youngsters who took part.

The 7EA female players spent a week on Merseyside as part of the trip, working with LFC Girls Academy coaching staff during four days of intense sessions at the organisation's training base in Kirkby.

They also visited 7EA UK's pre-season sessions and games in Liverpool, before meeting with the LFC Ladies squad and enjoying a number of cultural experiences in the region.

7 Elite Academy Head of Youth Development, Shaylee Wilson, accompanied the players - Mikayla Wise (01G), Berkley Payne (04G), Ashley Garcia (05G) and Kaeda Wilson (05G) - on the trip.

She said: “The trip was a massive success for the girls, who developed not only as great soccer players, but also a good young people.

"Training with LFC Girls Academy is an unforgettable opportunity and I am so proud of the way they handled themselves with some very good players.

“As an academy, this is something we do on a regular basis - not only to the UK, but across the world.

"Offering incredible opportunities to see other cultures and enjoy playing with youngsters across the world is at the very core of our academy structure.”

The four players were selected for the trip after displaying exceptional commitment to the six guiding principles of 7 Elite Academy – Excellence, Tenacity, Honor, Innovation, Community and Sacrifice.

7 Elite Academy Global Technical Director, Anthony Godfrey, said: “The four 7EA girls were fantastic ambassadors for our organisation – not only on the pitch, also in terms of their preparation, attitude and conduct away from the training ground. I am so proud of them.

“Playing at one of the most famous training venues in the world would be an intimidating prospect for anyone, but our girls really took it in their stride and showed why they fully deserved to be there.

“We want to make sure all of our players have the chance to experience different cultures, both within soccer and in life in general. By doing this, we will continue to see them develop as fantastic young human beings.”

Wayne Scholes, Chief Executive at 7 Elite Academy, added: “The players who went on this trip have laid the groundwork for generations of young people from 7EA to enjoy enriching travel and playing opportunities across the world.

“They performed incredibly well during all the training sessions and certainly impressed the LFC Girls Academy coaching staff. In terms of playing experiences and everything else, the girls will never forget this trip.

“We now have training bases in the USA, UK and Africa, as well as close working links with clubs in Australia. These relationships will allow our players to travel and develop as young people in so many varied ways.”
