Former Liverpool and England star Stephen Warnock will attend a series of Masterclass sessions in Utah next month.

Selected players will be invited to take part in the sessions, which take place from September 9th to 11th at venues in the Salt Lake City and St. George areas.

Warnock, who won the UEFA Super Cup with Liverpool during 16 years in the professional ranks, will cast his eye over the sessions and offer advice on how to build a career in soccer.

He said: “I am really looking forward to helping young people in Utah achieve their goals in soccer with 7 Elite Academy. This is a very exciting time for everyone connected with the academy.

“Having worked with players in the UK over the last few weeks, I have seen the incredibly high standards that 7EA sets for its players and I fully expect to see that repeated in the United States.

“The world of professional soccer is incredibly tough, but with the right guidance players can make the most of their potential. That is where I am hoping I can make a difference.

“I am also looking forward to working with the coaching staff in Utah and seeing how they operate in what is a new environment for me. I am sure we can learn from each other.”

Teams and players selected to take part will be those who display and closely follow 7 Elite Academy’s core values – Excellence, Tenacity, Honor, Innovation, Community and Sacrifice.

Anthony Godfrey, Global Academy Director at 7 Elite Academy, said: “Stephen Warnock faced plenty of obstacles during his lengthy and successful soccer career, and he certainly proved that with hard work and determination, they can be overcome.

“That determination to succeed is so important for any player wanting to make the most of their potential, whether that’s with us or later on in their career with a professional club.

“I am delighted that with have a former player of Stephen’s experience and knowledge of the game at the very highest level both Club and International is happy to help our Academy continue to grow, benefitting not only our players, but our staff as well.”

Those players selected will be notified soon, ahead of the first session in Salt Lake City.

Wayne Scholes, Chief Executive at 7 Elite Academy, added: “Our values are so important to us and reflect how we operate as an organisation, both in the game and throughout life in general.

“We want our players to succeed in whatever they do, but of course with soccer a key part of their interests. Having Stephen train alongside them in Utah will be a massive benefit.

“Of course Stephen will be able to show them his considerable talent as a player, but he can also pass out advice that will prove absolute crucial in terms of building a professional career.

“These sessions are just part of a rounded education that we give our players as they develop into good young people.”
