Former Liverpool and England footballer Stephen Warnock has pledged to return to Utah after a successful week at 7 Elite Academy's latest Premier League Player Experience.

Warnock, who won the UEFA Super Cup and Football League Cup during a 16-year professional career, spent four days working with 7EA players and coaches in Salt Lake City and St. George.

This year's Premier League Player Experience was attended by hundreds of players in Utah, following a similar event with James Milner in 2018.

And Warnock is looking forward to continuing his work with 7EA youngsters across the world in the future.

He said: “I have absolutely loved working with players and coaches at 7 Elite Academy over the last week, in what is a beautiful part of the world.

“The academy's coaching staff led the sessions with detailed and expert planning, so it was great to give them my input wherever I could.

“Every single young person I met showed the kind of determination and passion for soccer that is an essential part of what makes a top-level player.

“7 Elite Academy is expanding all the time and with players in the US, UK and Africa, I can't wait to continue working with those players in the future.”

Warnock's trip to the United States came after a period working with 7 Elite Academy UK players during the build-up to the organisation's first season in Merseyside.

7 Elite Academy Global Director, Anthony Godfrey, oversaw the event alongside professional coaching staff.

He said: “Stephen faced and overcame many challenges during his career, so his presence in Utah this week has been an absolute privilege.

“He was able to pass on crucial advice about becoming a professional player and how to make sure our players continue to develop off the pitch as well.

“The sessions were led by our coaches, but Stephen was on hand to help show how top-level clubs make sure young people are continually tested and developed.

“Our youth player development curriculum is designed to mirror those clubs in the world's top leagues and this week's event served to further our work in that area.”

Wayne Scholes, Chief Executive at 7 Elite Academy, added: “We have academies across the world and having professional players like Stephen Warnock is essential in our quest to provide players with top-level coaching and advice.

“Stephen proved to be a fantastic example to youngsters throughout the week in Utah, as well as his time working with our academy in Liverpool during their pre-season.

“He also gave our professional coaches invaluable support and advice whenever they needed it, be that during training sessions or away from the pitch.

“I am really looking forward to working with Stephen and other professional soccer players again in the near future.”
