Former Head Coach at Barcelona Academy New York joins 7 Elite Academy as Technical Program Manager

7 Elite Academy is proud to welcome our new Technical Program Manager Paulo Nico Serolini (Nico). Nico joins the Academy following his successful tenure as Head Coach of Barca Academy Pro New York, one of the biggest global projects of FC Barcelona overseas, to support the 7 Elite’s rapid growth in Salt Lake City, Utah.

 

Nico brings with him over 14 years of experience in the industry as coach and former professional player. Nico began his professional playing career at Defensor Sporting Club, Uruguay where he gained six Championships. He was selected for the Uruguay U17 Men’s National Team where he played more than 50 international games. Such as “Mundialito” in Tres Rios, Brazil, “Copa Pegaso” in Monterrey, Mexico and the FIFA World Cup Qualifying Tournament Arequipa 2000 in Peru. 

 

Throughout his career, Nico trained in professional teams in Europe and Central America, San Roque de Lepe, Athletic Baleares and L'Hospitalet in Spain, Punta Arenas FC in Costa Rica, Clube Oriental Lisbon in Portugal and Brighton & Hove in England.

 

On joining 7 Elite Academy Nico said “I am so excited to be here in Salt Lake with 7 Elite Academy. From my first visit I could see not only the passion of the players, but the professionalism of the Academy and the set up stands out as a leader in US youth soccer. I am extremely passionate about football and developing the future generation of players. I am excited to be coaching here in the United States where the sport is growing all the time. I’m really impressed by the set up here and delighted to be a part of it. I have been in professional sports all my life, playing, and coaching at some of the top clubs in the world and 7 Elite Academy has as good a program as I have seen anywhere else. They add to that a passion for youth soccer, extensive knowledge, and a global Academy. I am proud to be here, in a beautiful place like Salt Lake City, as the Technical Program Manager.
