7 Elite Academy's youngsters emerged winners at the first-ever 7EA East Africa Invitational Tournament in Tanzania.

The competition saw leading youth teams from across the country gather at Kinesi Football Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.

The 7EA team beat Mwenge Academy 2-1 in Sunday's final, following wins over Bom Bom and Navy Kenzo in the earlier rounds.

Reggie Wilson, Presideny of 7 Elite Academy East Africa, said: “The tournament was a huge success for everyone involved, from 7EA's professional coaching staff to the parents and of course the players themselves.

“I am so proud of how players from all teams performed and represented youth soccer in East Africa and across the African continent.

“We have some exceptionally talented youngsters who could go on to make a career in professional football in the world's top leagues.

“The games were officiated by a young man who had suffered personal tragedy in recent times, but was able to use soccer as a way to enjoy himself once more.

“It is obvious that our boys and coaches have been putting in a lot of hard work developing. They won against the three best teams in Tanzania.”

The games were attended by leading Tanzanian hip hop artist Navy Kenzo, who provided music for the event and handed out the final awards.
