Players from 7 Elite Academy in Utah took part in a webinar with one of the UK's leading sporting universities as they approach the next stage of their education.

The youngsters were invited to take part in Liverpool Hope Univetisty's Soccer Degree Webinar Presentation, ahead of their graduation from High School.

Hope University of Liverpool has close links with a number of clubs in the FA Premier League and works with players and coaching staff from across the professional game.

The webinar was set up to give youngsters from 7 Elite Academy the opportunity to quiz the university about its sports-based courses and how they can apply to study in Liverpool.

Anthony Godfrey, Global Technical Director at 7 Elite Academy, said: “It is vital for our young people that as they approach a crucial stage of their journey with us, they have all the information to make the best possible decision.

“Studying in a different country is a huge move, so we have joined with Liverpool Hope University to offer our players a chance to find out more about the courses, the work opportunities and life in one of the UK's best cities.

“We are determined to make sure we have an effect on the prospects of our young people that goes far beyond their time with us. By working closely with Liverpool Hope University, we are giving them opportunities to grow both as players and good human beings.”

A group of 7 Elite Academy female players from Utah spent a week in Liverpool last summer, training at LFC Girls Academy and working with a number of other professional clubs. They also had a chance to meet staff from Liverpool Hope University.

And earlier this year, 7 Elite Academy's UK Boys played at the 7EA International Tournament in Utah and Nevada, where they eventually won their division against some of the regions's leading teams.

The 7 Elite Academy 01 Boys, meanwhile, also spent a week in the UK in February, where they played against some of the country's best academy youngsters, including clubs such as Wolves, Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers and Chester FC.

Godfrey added: “We are an academy that has teams in the United States, United Kingdom and Africa, so our players have plenty of opportunities to work with colleagues from across the world and experience different cultures.

“That is a benefit unique to 7 Elite Academy, which employs coaching staff from some of the world's top leagues to make sure players are given a truly rounded football education.

“Already, we have seen our youngsters from across the world visit the USA, UK and Africa, as well as attend leading international competitions in Australia. These experiences also have immeasurable benefits for their future development as adults.”
