The 7 Elite Pre-Academy Program has been highlighted as a key element of the organization's recruitment strategy across Utah.

The program works with players in the 2013-2016 age brackets, equipping them with basic soccer and fitness skills in a safe, supportive coaching environment.

Last week's tryouts in Saint George saw a 30% rise in attendees, with many of them having progressed from Pre-Academy sessions held in Southern Utah.

Registrations are set to show a similar rise from June 8th, as tryouts continue for players in the Salt Lake City and Northern Utah regions.

Matt Brown, Head of 7 Elite Pre-Academy, is delighted to see so many young people make the step to full-time coaching with older teams.

He said: “We have a great team of staff, both in Salt Lake City and in Saint George, who have been working together to produce a fantastic curriculum that gives players a true love of soccer.

“Juli Nield, Laura Evans and the rest of our staff in Southern Utah are doing a brilliant job and their input has been vital in attracting so many youngsters to Saint George tryouts.

“One of our aims is to instil a love for training, so they're itching to lace up and get on the pitch. With the personality of our coaches and the fun structure of our training sessions, this is a natural occurrence.

“We teach fundamental soccer techniques and game understanding, and always encourage our players to be creative and express themselves.

“With these aims and keeping our training sessions very competitive, the players always strive to be at their best. This lends perfectly to tryouts and a competitive team environment.

“Our coaches excel at teaching our youngsters and strengthening them as individuals. Once players and parents experience this first-hand, it is a simple choice to join 7 Elite Academy.”

The 2020 7 Elite Academy International Tournament in Saint George and Mesquite featured the first Pre-Academy jamboree, which was attended by players from across Utah. The event also welcomed a Pre-Academy group from Nevada.

And with school visits set to expand during the 2020/21 campaign, hopes are high for even more new recruits over coming months.

Brown added: “We have some exciting ideas and partnerships on the horizon, and I can't wait to get started in preparing our players for new pathways into soccer and life in general.

“The players will be looking the part more than ever in their exciting new Adidas kits and we will be visiting even more schools to show how soccer can improve young lives.

“Our inaugural Pre-Academy jamboree was a big success and we will certainly be looking to build on that for this season.”

Those plans are mirrored by 7 Elite Academy as a whole, which currently runs teams in the USA, UK, and Africa, with expectations of further expansion in the pipeline.
