The 2021 7 Elite Academy International Tournament in February will once again feature a Pre-Academy jamboree for younger players.

The introduction of a Pre-Academy jamboree at the 2020 tournament proved to be a huge success, with youngsters from across the United States taking part.

Hundreds of youth soccer teams are expected to play in the main 2021 7 Elite Academy International Tournament, which will take place from February 4th to 6th in Southern Utah.

The jamboree, meanwhile, is designed to offer players in the 2016-2013 age groups a fun introduction to tournament soccer in a safe but competitive environment.

Matt Brown, Head of 7 Elite Pre-Academy, said: “We were overwhelmed by the success of our jamboree in 2020, which was mainly thanks to the hard work of our staff, players and their families.

“It was great to see so many young people enjoying the opportunity to sample the unique, fun and competitive environment that tournament soccer offers.

“We have a great team of staff, both here in Salt Lake City and in Saint George, who are working hard to give players an even better jamboree experience in 2021.”

The 2021 Pre-Academy Jamboree, to be played on February 6th 2021 in Saint George, will once again feature 4 V 4 games on smaller pitches, with no goalkeepers.

Teams will play a minimum of four games each and there will be a maximum roster size of seven players per team.

“It is important that every player feels included, so all teams will receive awards in a dedicated ceremony,” Brown added.

“Each player who takes part should be rewarded for their efforts and shown that soccer can be a fun and healthy way to make new friends while gaining vital life skills.

“Our main Pre-Academy program is already giving young people opportunities to play soccer across Utah and we want our jamboree to be a key part of that process.”

The main 2021 7 Elite Academy International Tournament will take place in Saint George.

Nick Nield, Tournament Director, said: “Matt and his team in Salt Lake City and Saint George did a fantastic job of making the Pre-Academy Jamboree a success in 2020.

“It was integral to making the entire tournament such a memorable event and we are all looking forward to a repeat in 2021.

“The players, parents and their families are part of that success and we want them to come back in February for another fantastic day of Pre-Academy soccer.”
