The 7 Elite Academy International Tournament is on track to feature more teams than ever, as the countdown continues to one of the biggest youth soccer events in the region.

Registrations for the 2021 competition are currently ahead compared to this time last year – despite Covid-19 restrictions – with teams from as far afield as Canada aiming to attend.

Teams will gather in Saint George, Utah, from February 4th to 6th, with a full program of family entertainment planned, alongside some of the region’s leading soccer officials.

Tournament bosses have pulled out all the stops to reassure teams wanting to confirm their attendance, offering to defer the full payment of registration fees until January.

Daren Woolstenhume, CEO at 7 Elite Academy, is looking forward to seeing the 2021 tournament get under way.

He said: “Our staff have worked so hard to plan for the 2021 7 Elite Academy International Tournament since last February’s event, when a record 138 teams from across the world took part.

“The world is now a very different place, but what hasn’t changed is our desire and passion for youth soccer. That passion has given us all great motivation during some very difficult times.

“It is great that so many teams are putting their faith in the 2021 7 Elite Academy International Tournament. We want to show the world that youth soccer is as popular as ever and I can’t wait to see the first games kick off.

“We are also offering reassurance to teams concerned about Covid-19 restrictions, so as long as they register for the tournament, we won’t collect their fees until January.”

Popular event highlights such as the Pre-Academy jamboree and penalty shootouts have already become firm favourites and are confirmed as returning for the 2021 tournament.

Games will take place at Sullivan Virgin River Soccer Park and Little Valley Soccer Complex in Saint George. Selected matches will also be held at nearby High School fields.

Anthony Godfrey, 7 Elite Academy Director, said: “It is testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff that we are ahead of 2020 in terms of registrations for the 2021 7 Elite Academy International Tournament.

“It is going to be a celebration of youth soccer, featuring teams from across the United States in the wonderful setting of Saint George. Teams from Canada are also interested, and we’ve secured some of the best fields in the region.

“We have put in place a full range of protocols to ensure the safety of everyone involved, so teams can register with confidence that players, their families and coaches will be free to enjoy the tournament.”

Nick Nield, Tournament Director at 7 Elite Academy, has revised all aspects of the event after its record-breaking success in 2020.

He said: “We are determined to make sure everyone who attends the 2021 7 Elite Academy International Tournament has an unforgettable experience, while staying safe.

“That is why we’re planning an expanded program of live activities, as well as extensive accommodation and travel options for teams. It is so exciting to see our plans coming together.

“We have secured fields that will offer an unbeatable level of quality, alongside fantastic facilities and entertainment. The 2021 tournament will be a celebration of our burgeoning reputation for quality and safety.”
