Pre-Academy players from Utah and surrounding areas are being urged to savor the unique competitive atmosphere at the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament in February.

The event will again feature a Pre-Academy Jamboree for players in the 2013-2016 age groups and is once again expected to draw players and teams from across the region.

Youngsters who take part in the Pre-Academy Jamboree on Saturday, February 6th, are guaranteed a minimum of four games with a limit of seven players per team and no goalkeepers.

The main 7 Elite Academy International Tournament will take place from February 4th to 6th and is set to attract a record number of players and teams to Saint George.

Matt Brown, 7 Elite Pre-Academy Manager, said: “I am so looking forward to welcoming even more great players to the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament and Pre-Academy Jamboree.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for youngsters to get a taste of the unique competitive atmosphere that you only get at big international tournaments like ours.

“Our aim is to offer a jamboree that creates competition between the players, but also has a significant element of fun and community involvement for everyone.

“We have designed the game formats to ensure players have plenty of time to enjoy all the entertainment and food options that we’ll have on offer at the venue.”

Teams from throughout Utah and further afield are expected to take part – and Brown wants to expand the competition’s reach: “I have been contacted by a lot of teams about the 2021 Pre-Academy Jamboree.

“We’ll have players from Salt Lake City, Saint George and hopefully Nevada taking part, so this is a great opportunity to enjoy Pre-Academy soccer in a beautiful part of the world.

“The fact that the main tournament will be taking place nearby is a real bonus and will add to the overall experience for young people.”

High-class officials will run games at the main tournament, with live music, entertainment and food trucks set to make a return after last year’s record attendance.

Teams have been given the option to register for the competition now, but defer payment of fees until January.

Nick Nield, Tournament Director, said: “Our Pre-Academy Jamboree is integral to the success of the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament and I am delighted it is again proving popular.

“Matt and his team in Salt Lake City, along with Stuart Dewey and his team in Southern Utah, have worked so hard to create an event that will appeal to younger players and their families.

“Our Pre-Academy sessions show players how they can benefit from a structured, inclusive soccer program and the Jamboree is a natural extension of that.”
