The 7 Elite Academy International Tournament has SOLD OUT after almost 200 teams registered for the competition – over a week before the original deadline of January 17th.

The record-breaking event takes place from February 4th to 6th in Saint George and Washington City, with teams from across the region set to take part.

Players in the 2012 to 2002 age groups will battle it out for honours, alongside a separate Pre-Academy Jamboree for those in the 2016 to 2013 brackets.

Nick Nield, 7 Elite Academy Tournament Director, is delighted to see this year’s competition smash the previous record of 147 teams that registered in 2020.

He said: “It is a fantastic achievement by everyone involved that we have been able to organize a tournament that is proving so popular in the youth soccer community.

“I want to thank local authorities in both Saint George and Washington City for their strenuous efforts in finding fields and other facilities for the players and their families.

“Safety is, of course, the overriding priority for us and we have put in place strict protocols for people to follow across the event.

“Every year, we target a 30% growth rate over the previous tournament and despite the challenges we have all faced, I am delighted that we’ve once again achieved this.”

Thousands of players from Utah, Arizona, California, Nevada and Wyoming will gather for the event, which will feature professional officials and penalty shoot-outs at the end of games.

Entertainment and food options will also be on offer to families at Sullivan Soccer Complex in Washington City and Little Valley Fields in Saint George.

Daren Woolstenhulme, CEO of 7 Elite Academy, said: “It is great news that we have been able to attract so many high-quality teams to our tournament next month.

“I am so excited for the players and their families, who are going to have a fantastic time. We are confident that this tournament will live long in the memory.

“None of this would have been possible without the help of various local bodies and authorities in Saint George and Washingston City, who have all pulled together in the best way possible.

“Next year, we’ll be aiming even bigger and I am certain that the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament can only go from strength to strength.”
