7 Elite Academy’s SABA teams have been praised for their ‘brilliant’ performances at the Far West Regional tournaments in Salt Lake City and Boise, Idaho.

The competitions are regarded as qualifying events for the National Championships and feature the best teams from across the Western United States.

The SABA 05 Girls won the Utah Presidents Cup and played solid soccer at the Far West Regional Cup to reach the final, where they former strongly against eventual champions Idaho.

The SABA 04 Girls, meanwhile, played in 100+ degree heat at the Far West Regionals, conceding just four goals in their run to the semi-finals.

Shaylee Wilson, Head of Youth Development at 7 Elite Academy, said: “I am so proud of our players, who performed incredibly well against some very good teams at the Far West Regionals.

“They represented our academy and Utah brilliantly, and greatly improved throughout the tournaments. The heat was well over 100 degress, but our players gave 100 per cent in every game.

“Both our defensive and offensive lines stood out and teams just didn’t have an answer for them. It was a great display of team work and passion for soccer.

”I can’t wait to watch these remarkable young women continue their development and go on to enjoy opportunities at college and in professional soccer.”
