Younger players will take centre stage with a Pre-Academy Jamboree during the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament next February.

The popular version of soccer has proved to be a hit at previous tournaments and will cater for players in the 2014-2017 age groups.

Youngsters play 20-minute games during the Pre-Academy Jamboree with no breaks in play and an emphasis on full participation by all players.

The 7 Elite Academy International Tournament will take place on February 3rd to 5th 2022, with over 200 teams from across the world set to take part.

The Pre-Academy will take place on February 5th.

Matt Brown, 7 Elite Pre-Academy Manager, is looking forward to hosting another popular jamboree.

He said: “Our Pre-Academy Jamboree has proved to be a real hit with younger players in recent years, allowing them to sample the atmosphere of a competitive tournament.

“Because players are in the 2014-2017 age brackets, we make sure games have a fun element to them, with everyone encouraged to take part.

“Games are restricted in length, allowing youngsters to fully enjoy the experience, while we also have plenty of fun and games throughout the jamboree.

“We make sure every player leaves our jamboree with great memories, a smile on their face and a true love for soccer.”

The jamboree is part of 7 Elite Academy’s wider Pre-Academy program, that includes weekly sessions for younger players throughout Utah.

Those sessions also include a collaboration with West Jordan Youth Soccer allowing the Pre-Academy players to be placed on teams within the recreation  program and have weekly matches for fall and spring.

“Our Pre- Academy programme has grown massively in recent years,” Brown added.

“Many of our sessions are fully subscribed shortly after we advertise them, which is positive for the children and our academy as a whole.

“We want to introduce young people to soccer in a safe, secure environment, after which they’ll hopefully go on to become fully-fledged 7 Elite Academy players.

“Soccer holds so many opportunities for young people in sport, education and life in general. Our Pre-Academy programme plays a vital role in developing those opportunities.

“With a successful jamboree, we can create a competitive environment while retaining the highly supportive nature of our games and training sessions.”
