Coaches will be looking for “personality and spark” from players when 7 Elite Academy youth soccer tryouts get under way in Utah next week.

Youngsters will gather in Saint George from May 16th to May 19th, before tryouts move to Salt Lake City and Northern Utah from May 23rd to June 4th.

7 Elite Academy employs professional UEFA, FA and USSF licensed coaches, with thousands of players and teams across Utah, the United Kingdom and Africa.

Those international links mean players can look forward to regular opportunities for training and study across the world, as well as support for college applications.

7 Elite Academy Director, Anthony Godfrey, is keen for youngsters to take advantage of the opportunities presented at tryouts.

He said: “We want kids to show their passion and love for the game. We want them to come and show a real interest in self-learning and self-development.

“They should come for all the right reasons - that they want to be part of something special and unique that can really take their soccer career to new levels.

“We want to see that personality and spark. Be fully committed in everything you do and do it with pride and fun, because that’s what we’re all about.

“We’re about self-learning and making mistakes, but learning and progressing from them.”

7 Elite Academy has set new standards for youngsters wanting to progress to college and professional soccer, with many travelling to the UK for training sessions with AFC Liverpool.

Teams range from Pre-Academy level to Under-19, with opportunities to play in college showcase events through the SABA program.

Former Liverpool and England defender Stephen Warnock will also travel to tryouts, as will 7 Elite Academy Head of UK Coaching Alan Moogan, who played alongside Wayne Rooney at Everton.

Godfrey added: “A lot of the stuff that we do comes from our curriculum and our Premier League experience. So it’s really important that we show what to expect at 7 Elite Academy.

“We’ll be showing players what it will look like week to week. Any new player who comes to tryouts can meet new friends, speak to other players and find out what we do.

“This is something that we truly believe in. We always stay true to our curriculum, our program and our coach development.

“We’ll have coaches on hand to meet and greet the parents and players, and be on standby to answer as many questions as possible.

“We’re looking forward to seeing new faces, but also existing players coming back and continuing their work with us.”
