7 Elite Academy tryouts have seen more players than ever sign up across all age groups, as sessions continue in the Salt Lake City region this week.

Youngsters have flocked to tryouts in the Saint George, Salt Lake City, Davis/Weber and Utah County areas over the last three weeks.

7 Elite Academy offers a unique combination of high-quality, supportive coaching with professional staff, alongside opportunities to study abroad and play in college showcase events.

UEFA, FA and USSF qualified coaches have taken charge of tryout sessions, including former Liverpool and England defender Stephen Warnock.

And with tryouts set to conclude this weekend, staff are delighted with the standards on show from all players.

Anthony Godfrey, Director of 7 Elite Academy, said: “It’s been a brilliant few weeks of tryouts, and I am really happy with the high quality of players who have come forward.

“We want as many youngsters as possible to experience the opportunities we offer, including training sessions with highly qualified and knowledgeable staff in a supportive environment.

“We also offer regular opportunities to study abroad and play in the kind of showcase events that really appeal to high-level college recruiters.

“To have a further increase over all previous years in terms of players wanting to join us is fantastic. The fact that are creating more teams every year is great for the future of our academy in Utah.”

Remaining sessions in Salt Lake City this week include Under-15 through to Under-19 girls and boys, as well as Under-16 and Under-17 girls in Davis/Weber County.

Those tryouts also include sessions for 7 Elite Academy’s SABA program, which offers enhanced opportunities and support for college applications in the USA and overseas.

Stephen Warnock, who played 457 games in a 16-year professional career and was a member of England’s 2010 World Cup squad, has been impressed with the players he’s seen so far.

He said: “Tryouts are a nerve-wracking experience for anyone, but I have seen some really fantastic players this week, at all age groups.

“The quality on show has impressed me and many of these players can potentially have a great future in the game, either here or in Europe.

“Equally, they have the ability to work hard and make an impression on college recruiters. That is so important in terms of gaining a place at college and hopefully a scholarship.

“I’ve also seen how well-mannered and prepared all the players are. In soccer, preparation is key at all levels, regardless of your long-term ambitions.

“I am looking forward to seeing more of the same over the next few days.”
