7 Elite Academy’s SABA teams enjoyed one of their most successful college showcase events in Las Vegas, with players from all age groups receiving offers - including some from the United Kingdom.

Boys and Girls teams from the 04, 05 and 06 brackets attended the Players Showcase, which is regularly attended by recruiters from the biggest colleges in the United States.

Showcase tournaments are an opportunity for players to impress college coaches in competitive atmosphere, with a series of games against similar level teams.

7 Elite SABA’s 04 and 06 Boys attended the first weekend of games in Nevada at the start of March, before the 04 and 05 Girls arrived just a few weeks later.

And both sets of players made a big impression on recruiters, who were keen to make contacts that could lead to college scholarship offers.

Anthony Godfrey, 7 Elite Academy Director, said: “College showcase events are a huge opportunity for young people to take a major step towards college and even scholarships.

“They are a shop window for players in what is a highly competitive college scholarship environment. The fact that so many of our youngsters received interest is testament to their hard work and dedication.

“Our 04 and 05 Girls had a huge amount interest from recruiters and one of the players, Halle Felis, even signed her Letter of Intent at the event. That was a great moment for Halle and her family.

“It was a similar case for our 04 and 06 Boys teams, including players from 7 Elite Academy UK. They flew over as part of our Player Pathway and will now be working hard to turn that interest into solid scholarship offers.

“Shaylee has put in a huge amount of work, sitting down with the girls and going through all the paperwork, emails and constantly pushing them to really attack opportunities when it comes down for them to put themselves in the window for college scholarships.”

The 7 Elite Academy Player Pathway is a unique program that offers young people regular opportunities to play in the best college showcases, receive intense college preparation and even play and live abroad.

Working alongside 7 Elite Academy locations in the USA, UK and Africa, it makes sure every player is fully prepared for the next step towards college, employment or even professional soccer.

Shaylee Wilson, Head of Youth Development at 7 Elite Academy, was delighted to see so many players receive solid offers and invites from leading colleges.

She said: “This was one of the the best college showcase tournaments we’ve ever been to with the 04 and 05 Girls, with so many college scouts and recruiters watching our games.

“At one stage, it was hard to keep with all the offers our players were getting! Many will be making visits to those colleges in the next few weeks before making their final decisions.

“It was lovely to see Halle sign her LOI on the field after a game. It put the finishing touchers to what was a fantastic and productive weekend for all our players.

“7 Elite Academy invests heavily in the future of every single player and is continually offering opportunities to develop, both within soccer and elsewhere in a player’s life.”
