‘The biggest tryouts ever’ - that’s the assessment of 7 Elite Academy tryout sessions across Utah during May. And there’s still limited places available.

The expanding youth soccer academy held tryouts in Saint George, Salt Lake City, Lehi and Ogden, with more players than ever applying to take part.

7 Elite Academy is a sports and education organization with thousands of players and coaches in the United States, United Kingdom and Africa.

Youngsters who join benefit from a training program with USSF, UEFA and English qualified staff, as well as committed and educational initiatives.

And following tryouts in May, there is still a limited number of coveted spots available on teams in both St George and Salt Lake City.

Anthony Godfrey, 7 Elite Academy Director, said: “This year’s tryouts saw more players than ever take part and impress our coaches.

“The skill level was extremely high at every session, which is testament to the increasing interest and passion for soccer here in Utah.

“Our coaches had an extremely tough job choosing players for their teams, as competition for places is continually increasing.

“But the nature of tryouts means we have a small number of places available. Players who are still without a club have an excellent opportunity to join us.”

Teams still looking for players include:

2007 Girls: coachjtevans@gmail.com

2010/05 Boys: ben.cooper@7eliteacademy.com

2012 Boys Red: Randy.Tate@7eliteacademy.com

2015 Boys: mervwarr@icloud.com

“We have worked hard over the last six years to create an international coaching plan that offers world-class opportunities,” Anthony added.

“As well as coaching with the very best staff, we have college application assistance and employment programs designed for all levels.

“Our players regularly play in the best soccer tournaments in the country, including the prestigious Junior Premier League USA.

“We have a close partnership with our academy in the UK, which means US-based players can join teams and colleges in Liverpool throughout the year.”
