The 7 Elite Academy International Tournament will create a true flavor of global soccer when it returns in its biggest ever format to Southern Utah and Nevada next February.

The tournament, which has emerged as the ‘youth soccer event of the year’, regularly attracts over 350 teams to Saint George, Washington and Mesquite, including players from across Europe.

7 Elite Academy runs teams for thousands of youngsters in the United States, United Kingdom and Africa, including a successful Player Pathway international exchange program.

The 2024 7 Elite Academy International Tournament takes place on February 1-3, with many teams having already signed up after registration was launched early to handle extra demand.

Nick Nield, 7 Elite Academy Tournament Director, said: “Every year we see more and more teams wanting to take part in our tournament, resulting in the record numbers we saw in 2023.

“We will again be expanding to handle the extra interest for 2024, but at the same retaining the unique and fun atmosphere that has become our biggest asset.

“Even more players from the United Kingdom and Europe will be flying in for the tournament, as well as hopefully some from Africa. Those teams will create a global atmosphere at every game they play.

“What a fantastic challenge it will be for more teams from the United States to take on their counterparts from across the world! That is something I can’t wait to see.”

The additional demand for place is expected to once again create an influx of trade for local restaurants and hotels, after a record 360 teams packed into the region in 2023.

Nick added: “We’re working hard with local vendors to make sure we have the very best entertainment and food available, both at the venues and within the host towns.

“At the same time, we’ll have exclusive tournament deals with local hotels to make sure everyone is catered for.”

Attendance has steadily risen since the tournament was first launched in 2018, culminating in a mammoth 540 games being played across all venues in 2023.

Anthony Godfrey, 7 Elite Academy Director, said: “We’re working hard to evolve the format of our tournament to continue the upsurge of interest we’ve seen over the last seven years.

“There will be penalty shootouts of course, which always help to develop a competitive edge in every game. There is nothing like the tension of penalties to decide an extra point!

“But we also want to appeal to the college coaches and scouts, who attend in bigger numbers every year. That’s why we’re encouraging players to showcase their individual skills throughout the tournament.

“Our Player Pathway is a global program that encourages players from across the world to seek new opportunities in soccer, education and employment. The presence of college scouts is a major part of that.

“I am keen for this event to become a key college showcase event, but with a competitive edge. That way we can stand out and create even more college opportunities for players.”
