Seven Elite Academy’s 01 Boys have been urged to “make lifelong memories” after they qualified for the National Championships with victory in the Far West President’s Cup.

The Utah youngsters will travel to Indianapolis on July 11th to face teams from across the country and compete for the title of USA Champions in the National President’s Cup.

They sealed their place at the national soccer jamboree with a 2-0 win over Wolves FC in Sunday’s final, thanks to goals from Ben Simister and Oscar Quintero, who also finished the tournament as top scorer.

The 01 Boys were part of a six-team Seven Elite Academy delegation at the Far West President’s Cup, with several sides reaching the final stages of the state-wide tournament in Salt Lake City.

Anthony Godfrey, Academy Director at Seven Elite Academy, said: “It has been a fantastic tournament for all our teams. Every single player on our rosters can be proud of their performances.

“Our 01 Boys reached the National Finals and that is an achievement they will remember for a long time. But they mustn’t rest on their laurels. It will incredibly tough for them at Indianapolis, so they must continue preparing as they have been doing.

“Whatever happens, however, this is the time for the lads to make lifelong memories with a group of players who have truly shown what they’re capable of. The whole Academy is rightly proud of them.”

The organization held tryouts last month, with over 500 new youngsters making a bid to play in a Seven Elite Academy shirt next season.

They will join hundreds of players already signed up to appear in competitions across Utah during the new campaign, which gets under way this Fall.

Dave Rogers, Regional DOC for Southern Utah at Seven Elite Academy, said: “I am so proud of this group of players, who have shown all the attributes needed to be champions. They have fought so hard to be where they are.

"I especially want to thank the 01 Boys coaches, Stuart, Sean and Mark, for their hard work in getting the team to this stage.

“They are developing into fine young people, both on and off the pitch, as are all our players at Seven Elite Academy. Personal development is a big part of our coaching curriculum.

“To see so many of our teams at the tournament, enjoying their time playing soccer with us, was hugely satisfying. It showed how far we have come since the Academy was formed just over a year ago."

The National President’s Cup runs from July 11th to 15th at Grand Park Sports Complex, Westfield, Indianapolis.
