Seven Elite Academy invited highly-regarded Senior Coach Educator Keith Mayer to pass on his vast knowledge to the organisation’s coaching staff.

Keith spent two days with coaching staff from the Salt Lake City and Weber / Davies County areas this week, before moving down to St George for two days.

The visit was organised to help further the development of Seven Elite Academy’s coaching staff, ahead of the new season this Fall.

Anthony Godfrey, Academy Director at Seven Elite Academy, said: “I have known Keith Mayer for a number of years as a coach mentor but that also leading into being a close friend and he is one of the most effective Coach Educators in the youth development game I know.

“Coaches who met him over the last week were attending one of many 7EA youth award coach education courses and on this particular course it provided our coaches with content that gives a more detailed insight behind the four-corner model.

“This shows them how to shape their personality to become an inspiring coach, how to reduce conflict on and off the pitch, and how to create an environment for players to feel they’re in a place where there they can perform to their highest standards, worry free.

“Keith’s knowledge of the psychology of coaching youth players will prove invaluable to our staff over the coming season.”

Keith, has delivered coaching programmes in six continents across the world, but he was making his debut in Utah.

He said: “I’ve been working alongside coaches from Seven Elite Academy and it has been a fantastic experience. They are so receptive and open.

“They have also been quite engaging. So whatever they take from this, I hope they can utilize the knowledge and experience they already have, and build on that.

“I want the kids they work with, the girls and the boys, and the parents as well, will be enriched by the additional that we’ve shared.

“Utah stuns me and is without doubt the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to.”
