Seven Elite Academy 01 Boys South are United States Soccer National Champions after a dramatic 2-0 final win over Brownsville Galaxy.

The Utah outfit sealed victory at Westfield in Indiana thanks to a brace of goals from Ben Simister, after they lost to Brownsville in the group stages early this week.

Sunday’s Presidents Cup victory gives Utah a sixth national championship-winning side, with the previous title coming two years ago, courtesy of Rampage FC.

Wayne Scholes, CEO of Seven Elite Academy, said: “I am immensely proud of the coaches, players and parents of the team. This National Championship win is a testament to their hard work, loyalty, and strong mentality.

“It is a fully deserved win for them, and the 7 Elite Academy is immensely proud to have them set the standard for our other 7EA teams."

Both Seven Elite Academy goals came in a ten-minute period of the second half, as Simister made the both of a tiring Brownsville defence.

Anthony Godfrey, Academy Director at Seven Elite Academy, added: “Today has been great day for these players, the Academy and for the state of Utah."

“I don't think these players truly realise what they've achieved and how this moment will live with them for a lifetime.”
