Coach of the Year Stuart Dewey has dedicated his award to the 7 Elite Academy 01 Boys team that won the National Championships in July.
Dewey was given the honour by Utah Youth Soccer Association at a glittering ceremony in Ogden on Friday night.
He was part of a coaching team that helped to guide the 7EA youngsters to glory at the national tournament in Westfield, Indiana.
That team of coaches also included Mark Hunt and Sean Rocha.
Dewey said: “I am so delighted to receive this award, but it should be shared by every single person I work with, from coaching staff to parents and of course the players. I can’t thank them all enough.
“The young men who took our Academy’s first National Championship were an absolute pleasure to work with. I couldn’t have done any of this without them.
“I am so humbled by this award and will always treasure the memory. The task now is to make sure we keep developing good young people.”
7 Elite Academy teams have continued to win top honours since last year’s title win, including the 04 Boys (Red), who won the Real Salt Lake tournament for the second year running in January.
And at the 7EA Tournament earlier this month, host teams won twelve separate boys and girls brackets and appeared in ten further finals.
Wayne Scholes, Chief Executive at 7 Elite Academy, said: “I couldn’t be more proud of the work Stuart and his team of coaches have done in developing great young players, and in particular our run to the National Championships.
“Throughout our Academy, coaches are benefiting from education programs that allow them to pass on skills to the most important people in our organisation - the players themselves.
“Stuart fully deserves this award. Our entire coaching staff is dedicated to making sure we continue to work in a way that benefits every single young person thar joins us.”
Dave Rogers, DOC at 7 Elite Academy, added: "This award is a testament to Stuart and his eager and enthusiastic approach in his growth and development as a coach here with us at 7EA.
“The coach education programs and continued personal development we offer at 7EA are aimed at providing a clear and persistent pathway to all of our coaches.
“When embraced and executed with the dedication and drive that Stuart possess this will also leave a lasting impression on our players who are the main focal point and long term priority in how we move forward as a club with our vision and ambition to be the best youth soccer club across the USA."
