Every month, we’ll take a closer look at a 7 Elite Academy team. This month, we take a closer look at our 07 Girls (UC). Oli Brittain takes up the story...

I have the pleasure of being able to coach the 7EA 07G UC team. We started playing together in the summer of 2017.

The girls have all made an amazing improvement since we started and their soccer IQ never fails to amaze me.

They play with a confidence that has impressed myself, other coaches and parents, referees and even James Milner during the summer camp.

They love their soccer and are never afraid to try new things. They constantly impress me with how well they remember things but then also implement them in their games.

This is also helped by the brilliant support and encouragement from the parents on the sidelines. We have had far more ups than downs since we’ve started playing.

Last summer we reached the final of the Utah Invitational and during our very first season finished runners up in the UYSA South B division.

This fall we finished third in South A and averaged five/six goals a game through out the fall season.

The girls have improved at such a fast rate, it’s amazing and exciting to see how far they can all go together as a team and individually.

They always work very hard and give their all at training. It’s a joy to coach them and I look forward to every training session and game.
